    /excl switch (Access 2000)

I want to be able to open a database in exclusive mode. Here is the shortcut path that I am trying to use to do it:

    "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeMSACCESS.EXE" /excl /wrkgrp "ilstoresalesCoordinationCoordination DBSYSTEM.MDW" "Cocuments and SettingsjoekDesktopCoordination.mdb"

    It is a split DB
There are no other users logged in at the moment.
The DB is set to open in shared mode by default (this is what I want, generally) but sometimes I want the DB to be locked.

The DB still doesn't lock (I can open it using another user account on a separate machine).
I have tried placing the /excl switch in various places in the command line, without success. Sometimes I get an error that Microsoft doesn't understand the command; sometimes I can log in with the username and password, but so can everyone else.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    JoeK
