Track Changes in Word 2003 (Word 2003)

Can anyone help with a strange problem we have? We constantly work with Track Changes on our documents. For each new issue of a document, we accept all previous changes and then protect the new document so that all changes are shown in the new version - but now we are getting totally confused, as some lists of numbers (in any format, ie 1,2,3 or i,ii,iii) which were changed in the previous issue, now show a change bar against them, even though they haven't changed again in the new issue. We have tried turning the 'formatting' option off in the 'Show' list, which makes some of the change bars against these lists disappear, but some of them remain and we are having to go through and accept each change individually to get rid of the change bar in the new issue. Would much appreciate any help anyone can give.

Is there a chance that the attached template is changed in any way throughout this process?

I have seen similar issues in the past. I can usually clear this by

Accepting all changes in the document

Turning off change tracking

Making a minor edit to the document

Turning change tracking back on again

Making another minor edit to the document

Accepting all changes in the document again

Turning change tracking off again[/list]I'm not sure all the above steps are necessary, but it does seem to work!
