    to do list (2007)

I use a pencil and paper for a to do list. I add things to this list and cross off things when they are completed. I would like to do this on Word. Is there a standard form or some other vehicle to do this? I want to cross off an item and then have it automatically go to a storage area. Got any ideas

I think you could find many better tools for this than a Word document. However, Word does have the advantage of rich formatting and easy printability. While I am not aware of any pre-built solutions, you could search Microsoft's Office Marketplace to see whether someone is offering a task manager for Word 2007.

You could use Tasks in Outlook for this. You can mark a task as completed by ticking a check box, you can set reminders, you can set up recurring tasks, and you can define a view that automatically hides completed tasks.

If it is part of your suite, then OneNote is supposedly the ne plus ultra for note-taking and organizing, but I agree that Outlook is best for reminders.

I just learned that I can hide complete tasks - thanks Hans.
