Deleted tables in Final View (2002/2003)

We are working on a report that must contain all the changes that have been made over the previous year. Track Changes has been used to register the add or deletes. We cannot use Versions because the clients wants to be able to view each change and who made the change. The problem comes in when we delete a table or several tables which were in the same section of the report (follow each other). In Print Layout view lines appear on the screen which seem to indicate the old tables. In Print Preview any page breaks (or section breaks) are still there. This means that there are short pages where the tables and / or section breaks were. At least that is what it looks like.

Is there a way to delete the lines / breaks but still should the comments about the deletion?

Problems like this require you to be discerning about the revisions that you track. Try turning off the revision tracking and delete the elements that you don't want to see in the "revision tracked" version.

I find this makes a document that is far easier to read because the revisions that make differences to the text can be shown as revisions and the extra stuff that doesn't mean anything (in terms of revision tracking) can be just accepted.

    Thanks for the suggestion, Andrew.

This amounts to the solution that we came up with, we accepted the deletions of the tables. This removed the lines from the document. We can only hope that the client will understand that this was the only way we could get the document to print properly, without blank areas.
