    Hyperlink problem

Here's a peculiar one. I have a hyperlink on a form that opens a HTML page. This works fine for most users on our NT 4.0 network. However, on the same NT4.0 PC another user (logged on with their own username) clicks the hyperlink, IE 5.0 opens but does not display any web page. It seems as if Explorer is not opening or working properly as you cannot open any menu items either. I have checked permissions on the files and the users have full control. They can open the web page directly in windows explorer.
I cannot see any reason why this should be happening. Please help.

    Re: Hyperlink problem

There may be a problem with the installation of I.E., with regard to recognizing links.. I've seen a few things cause this before:

File Associations are incorrect: You can check this by looking at the view tab of your 'my computer' window.

Corrupted installation of I.E., I believe internet explorer has a fix installation option, available from the add/remove programs item in the control panel.

    HTH...

Check user profile - maybe it has restrictions. Try to create another user profile (member of the same groups) on the same computer - is it connecting OK?

    Re: Hyperlink problem

I have now tried repairing the installation - no effect; reinstalling IE - no effect; Looked at references in Access - nothing missing; File associations for different users (one where it works and one where it doesen't) they are the same. Permissions for the users - all have full control. Got the user (who cannot run the hyperlink) to log onto another PC and they have no problem on that PC.
I cannot think what else to try.
