Form Footer Not Visible (Access 2000)

I have a continuous form and I would like to add a Close button at the bottom so I clicked on View > Header/Footer in Design view and added the button. However the footer does not show when the form is activated. I suspected that a Continuous Form cannot have a Header or Footer so I created a new form with a header and footer and then add the continuous form as a subform on the new form (after removing the header/footer from from the continuous form). This new form has a header and footer now but I can't get it to display when the form is activated!

Was I correct that continuous forms cannot have a header and footer?

How do I get the header and footer to be visible on the main form when it is active?

    Thanks,
    Bill

A continuous form can have a visible form header and/or footer - see screenshot. Make sure that the Visible property of the relevant section(s) is set to Yes.

Re: Form Footer Not Visible (Access 2000)

I reviewed my form very carefully and found that I had mistakenly turned on Report header/footer instead of Form header/footer! In that mode the header/footer was visible in the form in design mode but not active mode. Anyway, I fixed the continuous form and it works great now.

Thanks for setting me straight again.

I don't understand how you turned on Report header/footer in a form, but I'm glad the problem has been solved.

Sorry, it actually says Page header/footer. I just assumed that was for a report when I fixed it last night and I didn't look it up again this morning when I wrote my message. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15>

OK, that explains it. The Page header/footer of a form is only visible when you print (or print preview) the form, not when you display the form on screen.
