Utilities for data collection (Windows XP SP3)

Is there a utility that runs locally to collect data on a given workstation--free hard drive space' serial number, RAM, etc.?

For personal or business use? For how many PCs? Need to run across a network?

Business--just specific, individual workstations---not across the network

Check out SIW | System Information for Windows by Gabriel Topala. NOTE: <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> for personal use, relatively inexpensive for business use.

You might want to also take a look at Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit. It creates an HTML file on the local computer that can be looked at later if needed.

You could see if the SysInternals (now Microsoft) utility PsInfo gives you some of what you want. You may want the -d parameter to give disk information.
