    Viso and Word

    Hello all,

A friend has created a viso diagram and pasted it in a Word document. Then he send the document to me.
I have no Viso on my machine, and can not see the Viso chart.

    What is going on?
    Greetings,

    Re: Viso and Word

    Managing visio and word files,
    I encountered a similar problem,
all that I could see in the word document were
the frame of the picture with a large red cross instead of the original drawing.
The word document was a very big size one (more than one megaB)
with various font size, sections, and complicated headers ans footers...
    The problem was instable.
I did not found elegant solution
I just created for safety another word file with no more than the pasted pictures
and below each one, I typed its reference number to locate it in the big word file.
So, the person reading the big word file could copy / paste in case of recurrency of the problem
(or just have a look at it if not for printing the all document).

    Hello,

I'm not sure if this will solve your problem, but it may be worth trying, if you haven't done so already...

From Word, add the Viso drawing using the Insert > Picture > From File option. Make sure that the file is embedded, not linked. (the method for doing this depends on which version of Word you are using).

    HTH,
    Arianna

    Thanks, Arianna,

This seems to be the best solution

Also, have the Visio user copy and paste the drawing into Word, but use Paste-Special, as a Picture.
