    Null Values (Access 2007)

Given that null values are either missing or unknown values, if someone asked for three examples of same, what the heck would you tell them?

    Re: Null Values (Access 2007)

You could give three specific examples. Let's say that you have a table with data about patients in a hospital. Possible fields in such a table are:
    - First name
    - Middle initial
    - Last name
    - Address
    - City
    - State
    - ZIP code
    - Birth date
    - Weight
    - Length

If a patient doesn't have a middle initial, you'd leave that field blank (null).
If the birth date of the patient isn't known, you'd leave that field blank (null).
If the weight of the patient hasn't been determined yet, the Weight field should be blank (null).

Hans there be three "interpretations" of a null value? In other words, as opposed to "blank" are there other types of null fields?
