    Graphic Title (Access 2007)

How do I lay the "Hockey Shop" lettering on the switchboard like in the graphic?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

Do you mean how do you get the Shadow Effect?

I have not tried this in Access, but I would make the White heading, then copy and paste it, nudge the copy a bit to the right and down a bit, make the copy grey, and put it Behind the first one.
Both headings need a transparent background.

    John:

Effects yes, but also the placement like that. I don't see the control for that.

    Chuck

What is special about the placement? You can't rely on others to see what you see...Try to explain it in words.

    I'm sorry, John.

I just don't see where I go to input the text and set the Properties for the title of the Switchboard. I can fix style later I suppose.

I never use the built in Access Switchboards so I don't know much about them... but isn't it just a standard label on a form?

What do you see if you switch to Design View?
    Regards
    John

    Re: Graphic Title (Access 2007)

I've been hoping not to do that. They say the switchboards can be tempermental.

    Oh well, thanks anyway.

    Re: Graphic Title (Access 2007)

I have just found a Switchboard with a Title like this.

Its caption is set in the On Open event, by looking up item 0 of the Switchboard items table for Switchboard 1.
    Regards
    John

    Re: Graphic Title (Access 2007)

The title consists of two labels with "Hockey Shop" as Caption.
Both labels have Back Style set to transparent.
One of the labels has Fore Color set to gray, and this label has been placed under the green rectangle at the top of the switchboard, so part of its caption is hidden by the rectangle.
The other label has Fore Color set to white, and this label has been placed above the green rectangle and hence above the other label.
The label with the gray text has been positioned about 0.03" to the right and down of the other label; this causes the shadow effect.

Under normal circumstances you don't have to do anything with the labels. Their caption is set when you first create the switchboard using the Switchboard Manager, and never changed afterwards.
