While connected to my office network at work, I check my ISP email in Outook via a modem & dial up connection. Outlook is configured to hang up once the email check is complete. I have done this for years without problem. However, recently, when Outlook hangs up at the end of the email, more than half of the time I am dropped off my office network. If I change Outlook to not hang up at the end of the email check and I manually close the dial up connection, there does not seem to be a problem. It seems as if Outlook is trying to log off when it hangs up and it does not seem to be a problem with the dial up itself (as I can make and disconnect the dial up manually without problem.
