Missing Filter Icons in Datasheet headings (Access 2007)

    Hi there,

I am currently studying up on Access 2007 following a training manual and have noticed that my application does not appear the same as what I see in various manuals. The items missing appear to be the icons used when a filter or sort is in place on a datasheet. The manual shows screen captures with icons of a funnel for a filter and a drop-down arrow for sorting which appear next to the field name heading in datasheet view. My version of Access does not display these icons when I apply a filter or sort in datasheet view. I have looked in Access options and various places to see why it may be disabled but I can't find anything that remotely resembles this option. Can anyone help?

    Regards

    Jocelyn

I had never noticed these before (as I almost never work with datasheets) but in my copy of 2007 the icons you describe are there, and I can't see any options to hide them or turn them off.

Can you post a screen shot of what your datasheets look like?

Edited by HansV to replace zip file that contained a Word document that contained a picture with a reduced version of the picture.

    Hi there,

I am not sure how to include a screen shot like the one you have included. I have attached it as a zipped up Word document instead I hope this helps.

I can't explain why they are not there, I'm sorry.

I can't find any reference to being able to turn them off.

Are you using large fonts in Windows, i.e. have you set the DPI setting for your display to more than the default 96 (in the Display Properties control panel, Settings tab, Advanced)? That seems to be a possible cause for this problem.

    Thanks Hans,

That was the problem. I have reset back to default and it has fixed it! Thanks again and all the best for Christmas and the New Year ahead.
