US Thanksgiving date (Outlook 2000 SR1)

Has anyone noticed yet that the date for US Thanksgiving on the Outlook 2K calendar is 11/29, when the actual holiday is the week before (11/22)? I can't find any information on MS about this. Comments/suggestions??

Mine has the correct date. Edit the file 'outlook.txt' in 'program filesmicrosoft officeoffice1033'.

I had the same problem with one of my users computers. I removed all of the holidays in his Outlook and added them again, and the date was correct the second time around. His was the only PC (that I know of) in my office that had this problem. I checked MS's website, too, and didn't find anything. I chalked it up to it being a user error (you can easily click and drag the holidays wherever you want without even being prompted). Is that possible/probable in your case? Do you know of more than one machine having the wrong date?

    Thanks,
    Becky

outlook 2000, gold had the wrong date. it was corrected in an update, although it only helped if you imported the holiday file after the update, not before.

Re: US Thanksgiving date (Outlook 2000 SR1)

Thanks for the post. From what I've seen (so far), it seems to affect only people who upgraded from Office (Outlook) 97. A user who had Office 2000 as part of a new system (and so didn't upgrade), ended up with the correct date when she added the holidays. I did the same thing you did to correct the problem on the two people who noticed. My dilemma now is whether or not to put out an announcement, or just handle the people who notice on a one-shot basis, since the large majority of Office 2000 users have it as part of a system rebuild (we included it in the standard upgrade to Windows 2000).

All of our users (except for the new ones) were upgraded from Office 97 to 2000 last December, and only one of them so far has seen this problem. The guy who discovered the problem had booked non-refundable airline tickets for "Thanksgiving"-and he went by the wrong date on his Outlook calendar. He was ticked off. I'd let everyone know so that you're not responsible for any plans that are made for the wrong date. Just my <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15>.
