'Twas the night before...

...Christmas when all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a MOUSE

I cannot believe the coincidence, but YES we have discovered MICE in the log cabin!!!!

We came back from a party tonight and we were aware of young Oliver, the family cat, was showing an unusual interest at the back of the dishwasher. Guessing something had gone a-rye we had a look behind said dishwasher and found mouse droppings!!!

Mrs Jezza hates mouse traps and I am not allowed to purchase one and definitely not allowed to buy poisons or "inhumane" capturing devices, the cats are more than useless.

Any ideas of any easy devised mouse capturing devices, I have limited time and would like something in place before Christmas Day...KTS ideas are obviously a preferred choice. HELP

Jezza,

If you're good, Santa can bring you one of these. I have a similar version (slightly more expense) but it works quite well.

Happy Holidays....remember build it and they shall come.

The only thing missing from the photo is the caption: "You must be joking!"

Perhaps some "a-rye" bread needs to be put inside, or things may go awry?

Personally I prefer something like this to killing the wee beasties.

And then the next question is: in what area do you turn these "wee beasties" free? Or do you keep them for "wee pets"?

Absolutely brilliant

However, I have had to be rather hasty in temporary repairs due to "assertive phrase repetition" from Mrs J about "getting it sorted" before tonight!!!!

So some temporary repairs have been made and I think I have just found another use for duct tape

It appears that mice have an ability to use saws now as they have cut a beautiful hole in the skirting board Note carefully how they have been very thoughtful and left a little selection of breadcrumbs, potato chips, little bits of pasta and a little puddle of dried pee just by the entrance.

Hopefully this will work for a little while, just to get us through the next two days otherwise I may have to attach electric cables to the entrance and fry the little beggars.

What did you fill the hole with? I'd cut a piece of wood to fit before taping...even if it fits loosely, the mice will get through that tape in a New York minute.

I wonder if there were a way to generate any sort of electricity using the mice against themself
