    New Mail Messages (2007)

    Hi there,

I'm trying to customise the default email format in Ootlook 2007. I can't find the file from which the command File > New > Mail Message draws its format. I would welcome any advice.

    Regards,
    Michael H.

    Leif,

I don't know the answer to your question. I want to click on New Message and see my own template.

    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Mail Format tab.
    Click Stationery and Fonts...
Here you can create and/or edit stationery and set it as default to be used for new messages.

    Hi Hans,

    Merry Christmas.

I'm familiar with your advice. I can't find where to control the default tab spacing. I like to use a neat 1cm metric rather than a not so neat 1.27cm imperial setting.

    Regards,
    Michael

I hope that someone who has Outlook 2007 can answer this (I'm still using Outlook 2002 myself).

I hope so. I expected Outlook 2007 to draw the default tab spacings from NormalEmail.dotx, but not so.

Did you look at the Editor Options / Advanced " Does that do what you need?
    Thanks John

See How to Change the Default Tab Stops in Word 2007 - For Dummies. Try it for Outlook first. If that does not make a permanent change try it for Word.
