    Outlook Not Shutting Down (2007)

I am tired of having to go into processes to completely shut down Outlook. I have turned off all ADD INS, but that doesn't seem to do any good either. Does anyone have a solution for this. I searched Google and Microsoft but didn't find any real solution to the problem. I did find a software application on Google, but that one made me nervous.
    Ideas?
    Thanks John

Sometimes security software is the culprit. If your anti-virus software has an e-mail scanning option, you could turn that off, or even turn off the entire anti-virus program temporarily to see if that helps. Don't forget to turn it back on!

Remember that if you have a "PDA" or any other type of device which will interface with Outlook, it also needs to turned OFF.

    Hans and Dave,
checked both of those, and made sure that both were off.
    Thanks John

These devices have been know to have a session running and then you fire up Outlook and they are both running. You can only shut down the one your started from within Outlook. The other must be shut down from the Task Manager.

I found that if I shut down the devices while Outlook is open, that I have fewer times when a process is left over.
