What happened to the 0.8 of a person

    Complete and utter nonsense.

Usual advert for a beauty cream full of pseudo-science and now it appears, pseudo-maths.

It claimed in a bold voice 78% of people tested agreed their skin was softer and showed less signs of ageing

    and below in <small>small</small> writing

    <small>40 people tested</small>

    So if we do the maths, 78% of 40 is 31.2........so what happened to the 0.8 of a person? <img src=/S/nuts.gif border=0 alt=nuts width=15 height=15>

    Jerry,

Not a very comprehensive poll if only 40 people were in the test group? ( all employees of the company? )

The 0.8 person decided to drop out at the last minute and only put a bit on their fingertip. <img src=/S/igiveup.gif border=0 alt=igiveup width=31 height=23>

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

Obvious! The tester only applied the product to 20% of his or her skin area! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

Maybe the testers (tester-one if singular) should have bought into one of those products that offer to increase one's skin area.
I get them in my email all the time, but until now hadn't bothered to reply to them.
I just hope I'm not the 0.8 goldbrick who is 20% shy of a lode ....

    The .8 of a person applied the wrong lotion, it was <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">vanishing cream</span hide> .

    Happy Holidays,

How insensitive. The 0.8 of a person could be someone who lost their mind, or perhaps a leg (similar to the bear avatar you have...)

Sometimes, you have too much sense for your own good... And Happy New Year!

    hah!
Unlike some people, they haven't got a leg to stand on!
