    Services (Windows XP)

Is there a place to lookup what specific serves are and what programs they support.

For example, I have a service running PcScnSrv.exe. I have researched this on the InterNet and found that is a TrendMicro AntiVirus service.
I have several other services I would like to identify, but was hoping not to have to research each on the net individually.

Also, can you recommend a good tool for clearing unused Registry entries?

    Thanks for any help.

Opinions on registry cleaners vary wildly - some swear by them, others think they're completely useless on Windows XP (and Vista).
Cleaning the registry agressively can be dangerous. CCleaner from Piriform has a good reputation - it is configurable, it offers to make a backup, and with the default options it won't remove essential entries. And it is <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>.

It is believed by several of the Family Research type programs, the internet search through these programs have failed, do to the removal of some of the entries to "Protect" the users.
Other programs that have built in searches, have reported the lose of this function.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

To check on various processes see ProcessLibrary.com - The online resource for process information! or Uniblue Process Library. Both have quite extensive lists to scan or search.
