    Inserting HTML across servers (2000 )

    Not sure if I'm in the correct forum. Maybe this should be posted in Web Design??

    I know how to do a #include of a file on the same server using shtml files.

    Question: How do I do an "include" of a file from another server?

    I've tried #include virtual="http://xxx.yyy.org/test.html" and also #include file="http://xxx.yyy.org/test.html". Do I need to get into php or can it be done using some variation of #include?

    TIA.

    It doesn't sound like your Web Server supports SSI. However, if it supports asp try creating an ASP page and add

    #include file="http://xxx.yyy.org/test.html"

    see if that works

    Thanks for the reply.

    I think that the server must support SSI because I currently have several #includes pointing to files on the same server. This works with no problem.

    My goal is to maintain one single list that is shared between two websites for which I am responsible. They are hosted on different servers.

    Any other ideas would be most welcome.

    The file can not be on a remote server. See the notest at Server-Side Include Directive Syntax for an explanation.
