1. ## Wind chill (2000/3)

I want to do a wind chill calculator.

I've got the formula from Wikipedia, (Link ) but am having problems converting it to Excel (my maths isn't good enough )

Attached is where I've got to so far (I'm using the American formula)

The formulas use either km/h and Celsius or mph and Fahrenheit. You specified mph and Celsius; the formulas don't provide for that although it would be possible to adapt them.

With speed in mph and temperature in Fahrenheit:

=35.74+0.6215*B3-35.75*B2^0.16+0.4275*B3*B2^0.16

With speed in km/h and temperature in Celsius:

=13.12+0.6215*b3-11.37*B2^0.16+0.3965*B3*B2^0.16

Cheer Hans

Hi there

The basic formula is:

<code>=35.72+(0.6215*C\$10)-(35.75*POWER(\$B11,0.16))+(0.4275*C\$10*POWER(\$B11,0 .16))</code>

See attached file for a full breakdown

Here is an updated file with Conditional formatting to make it prettier <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
