Adobe Acrobat Reader Changes display settings

A friend had some kind of problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader - she uninstalled it and downloaded and installed the newest version -9. But when she goes to open Acrobat Reader, it automatically changes her display settings from 800 x 600 to 600 x 480. I have shown her how to minimize Acrobat Reader and then change the settings back to 800 x 600. Everything is fine until she opens Acrobat Reader again and the display settings are changed. What could be causing this?

    Activate Windows Explorer.
    Navigate to C:Program FilesAdobeReader 9.0Reader.
    Right-click AcroRd32.exe.
    Activate the Compatibility tab.
Clear the check box "Run in 640x480 screen resolution".
    Click OK.

I had my friend install FOXIT READER which worked just fine. She then uninstalled Acrobat Reader. Thanks for your help.
