    Password Filenames (MSACCESS 2003)

I have a database that gets it's data from external files and directories on a drive. I can manipulate changing directory names and word documents from within the program, but is there any way to protect directories and their files on a drive to prohibit name changing externally to the Access program, having to use a permission password within Access to do it. Thanks

Unless you want to give users read-only access to that drive (i.e. they can view files but not create, edit or delete them) I don't think that's possible.
