    Self-installing program won't install

I downloaded a self-installing program from a software company I have dealt with before. But when I double-click the .exe file, the cursur flashes to an hourglass for a moment and then nothing more happens. The computer does not lock up. I tried downloading again in case the first one was corrupted, but the same thing happened. I also disabled my antivirus program but still no luck. Any ideas about conflicts between self-installers and W2K?

Yes, you need to be logged in as "Admin" in order to install most software, or at least be a super user.

Clean out ALL of you internet temp and Windows temp files and reboot. Also check to see if there is a cookie related to this down load site and remove it. Some of the installs can get hung up in the temp areas because of a bad file. Also some sites have a cookie that shows that this upgrade has been installed and will not allow it to continue.

Just some thoughts, and hope they help.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but it's still not happening.
