    error message (Internet Explorer 6)

I see the following error message when I try to open IE:
Application Error Can't read memory at 0xd55881a5.
What happened and can I fix this?
    Thanks

Re: error message (Internet Explorer 6)

This is a very general error message, it's impossible to say what causes it.
Does the problem persist after restarting your PC?
If so, see How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows XP.

Yes - it persists even after restarting.
Does the article you attached also apply for Windows 98?

No, I hadn't expected anyone to be using Windows 98 any more. I have no idea how it works there. I hope that someone else can help you, sorry.
