    Try

    =COUNTBLANK(B:

to count the number of blank cells in column B, and

    =COUNTA(B:

to count the number of non-blank cells.

    1] Hans' formula =COUNTBLANK(B:

I think this formula, in counting the whole column B blank cells, will be over-counted

2] Another way, in using COUNTIF function :

2.1]To count the number of blank cells.

    =COUNTIF(B1:B10,"")

2,2] To count the number of non-blank cells.

    =COUNTIF(B1:B10,"<>")

    or

    =COUNTIF(B1:B10,"<>"&"")

Please change the range of cells in meet of your requirement

    Regards
    Bosco
