Multimedia audio controller (xp pro sp3)

I had to install a new hard drive in a friends computer. Everything works fine except he is missing the multimedia audio controller. I am trying to tell him over the phone how to load the driver. Can you tell me where on the windows xp pro cd to navigate to so the driver will be loaded through device manager? I had him try the I386 folder but it wasn't there.

    Thanks,
    Mike

If the PC is from an OEM such as Dell or HP he ought to go to that support site and locate the driver there for his system. He'll be able to download it, save it somewhere, and just double click it to install.
