Location Bar, Firefox (Firefox 3.0.5)

Hi -

Have searched for ways to clear the location bar of items other than ones I type.

I found this site http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/19/d...on-address-bar/ and followed instructions "...configure & set the matchOnlyTyped to True. type about:config in the Location Bar, locate browser.urlbar.matchOnlyTyped preference name. Double click on the link to change the value to true. Now, only typed URL will be taken into consideration in Location Bar."

Unfortunately, I still have Bookmarked items i(yellow star on right of address) in the list and cannot permanently delete them.

Any ideas?

Thank you, Acer

Note: To review the solution for your version of Firefox and OS platform, look for a box to the right of the beginning of the article and click the relevant links below "Show content customized for."

Again my thanks for pointing me in the right direction- again. I couldn't come up with the correct keyword to search for such an add-on.

Interestingly, when I access this article in FF 3.05, I can't see the 'solution' - I see no information below the heading "Removing bookmarks results from the list" - see screenshot.

In IE6, I can see the whole page.

One would expect Firefox to render its own pages correctly. Am I doing something wrong?

There's a script behind the page that selectively hides parts of the page that aren't relevant for your version. Apparently this doesn't work correctly.
If you have the NoScript add-on, try forbidding mozilla.com. You'll see all text.

Yes, that's why I added the Note to my post...

Thanks - I'm afraid I missed that! again!
