    Form scrolling question (2003)

    Hi,

I have a simple (continuous) form which shows some records. If there are just a couple of records, they all fit on screen. However, if I scroll my mouse downwards, the top records disappear (move off screen to the top). The only way I can get them back is by clicking the scroll bar, the mouse wheel has no effect.

In my opinion, the records shouldn't scroll, since they are all in view. I wouldn't even expect to see a scroll bar, but it shows up anyway.

Any idea what is wrong here?

You can set the Scrollbars property of the form to None. That will suppress the scroll bar.

I know, thanks, but it is not what I want.

I do want to be able to use the mouse to scroll, but I don't understand why records would scroll out of view when all records do fit on the screen, this is rather counter-intuitive IMO.

I'm afraid that's a bug in the way scrolling is implemented in continuous forms.

OK, thanks. Good to know Access is just as crammed with bugs as Excel is. <img src=/S/groan.gif border=0 alt=groan width=16 height=15>

They do seem to have fixed this one in Access 2007.

I have been looking at a few continuous forms with just a few records, and the scroll bar property set to Vertical only.
In 2003 they show a scroll bar, while in 2007 they do not.
    Regards
    John
