Spyware from EMUSIC (Windows XP Pro)

I bought a COBY MP3 player for my son, and it came with 50 free songs from Emusic. We redeemed some songs but did not sign up or join anything.
When I ran spybot search and destroy it showed E-MusicA 1 entries spyware. I tried to delete but was unable. I uninstalled anything I could find with emusic
in it, but I am a novice at computers. I need some suggestions about how to get rid of this spyware and how harmful it might be. Also, I need some ideas
about where this spyware might be hidden.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge !!! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Take a look here for removal help from Spybot. Their forum is a very helpful place. If you aren't computer savvy enough to understand the instructions yourself, join their forum and I'm sure they can help you. Post back and let us know how you make out.

Their first suggestion is to run Spybot in Safe Mode, and that is a good place to start. Good Luck.

Did eMusic install its toolbar in Internet Explorer? If so, you can disable it by going to View|Toolbars and unchecking it. But I've used eMusic for years, and just ignore Spybot's warning about it. I find nothing harmful in the toolbar's presence.

I've never seen this with eMusic. But I have a paid subscription, too, and maybe this stuff is a tradeoff for the 50 free MP3's.
