    Outlook Format Glitch (Outlook 2003)

As long as I have been using Outlook 2003 I have had it set in Options/Mail Format as "Compose in this message:" set at "HTML and checked "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit email messages". All of a sudden today when I clicked to reply to an email, what I saw on the monitor was much smaller than what than the original message or what I was used to seeing in the past. The first thought was the font had changed somehow but it did not after checking.

So, if I go into Options/Mail Format and untick "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit email messages" and then click reply, the size on the screen is back to normal but I get an error message that says: One or more ActiveX controls could not be displayed because either: 1) Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page, or 2) You have blocked a publisher of one of the controls. As a result, the page may not display correctly.

Is there any way, I can get back to my original view size on the screen using Options/Mail Format as "Compose in this message:" set at "HTML and checked "Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit email messages" as my settings ? I just mention as a note again that the font size has not changed.

    Thanks for any help !!!

Start an e-mail message and click anywhere in the text of the message.
Try scrolling the mouse wheel while holding down the Ctrl key.

Ok, that works to adjust it but is there a way to set it or do I have to adjust it on every email now ?

Doesn't Outlook 'remember' the setting you last used?

This usually is caused by Word adding "Smart Tags" into your message. If you find the messages alarming, consider how they will look to your correspondents. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

To try to prevent Smart Tags from being added to emails, try here in Word: Tools > Options > General tab, E-mail Options button.
