Use OUTLOOK on 2 computers (xp/vista/2007)

Is it OK to access one email account, from OUTLOOK on two computers?
I recently purchased a new Vista machine, which came with a trial version of Microsoft Office 2007, so I set up outlook=It works fine. But OUTLOOK on my old machine, which I still have set up stopped updating my email.
I don't receive any error messages when I click send receive.
Can you only access an email from one Outlook at a time?
My old machine has Office 2007 also, and worked fine before I set up the new machine.

What kind of email account is this?

If it is Exchange Server then it should work fine.
It if is MAPI then it should work fine
It if is POP3 then the first PC to collect the email can leave it on the server, but the other PC will still not collect a copy as it has now been read.

It is POP3 and that explanation makes sense. Thankyou very much.
