Tunning up PST (Outlook 2003 SP3)

My wife was having problems with Outlook. I discovered that her pst file was over 600 mb. So I did the following:
Ran scanpst (The inbox repair tool)
Searched for and deleted all large mail
    Archived all folders
    Compressed the pst file
    Closed and restarted Outlook
Suggested leaving Outlook open and running most of the day. (She had been opening and closing Outlook 6 or more times a day.)
The pst file is now under 200 mb and performance seems to have improved.
    Is there anything I missed?

Without knowing the nature of the problems, that's a very difficult question to answer.
