Direct Output to printer and Tray (Word 2000)

I need to send output directly to the
Bypass Tray of a Ricoh Aficio AP3800C Laser Printer.
The Tray will contain light card.
I need to do this from VBA Script.
Does anyone know how to do this from Word VBA or using API Calls.
I used to have some code that did a similar thing but have mislaid it.

Try recording a macro of printing to this printer and tray.

Re: Direct Output to printer and Tray (Word 2000)

I'll try it out and see what happens.
I just tried an experiment on a different printer using HP6 and manual Feed Tray.
It recorded the change of ActivePrinter and that is part of the problem resolved.
However, it recorded none of the tray selection.
It may be possible using one of the Printer properties
DefaultTrayID, FirstPageTray and OtherPagesTray in word, but I am not sure which one or which value to send to it. Other than trial and error. Word has built in constants, but the value has to agree with the driver. I was wondering if anyone knew this constant value and which tray property to use.
The other possibility might be to use the windows API to control the Printer selection and Tray directly.
But again I would need to know which values to use.
I've tried googling it but had no luck with Ricoh Printer yet.

Printers often use other tray numbers than those provided by the built-in Word constants. In my experience they can be captured by recording a macro. If that doesn't work for you, I don't know how to find them.

    OOPS
Just had another go and had success with HP
    Recorded Tray selection.
I had missed out Tray selection on Page Setup and done it on Printer Options.

Will try experiment with Ricoh tomorrow and feedback results.

    Thanks
