    Bold format disappears on field update (2007)

    The total field in a table is bold. Looks nice. Select and update fields (as you do with tables) and the bold goes.

    I can't see anything about this on the MS site. Anyone know how to make the bold stick after and update?

    Try this:
    - Right-click in the total field.
    - Select Toggle Field Codes from the popup menu.
    - You'll probably see something like

    { =SUM(ABOVE) }

    - Insert * charformat before the closing brace } so that it looks like

    { =SUM(ABOVE) * charformat }

    - Select the entire field and make it bold.
    - Press F9 to hide the field codes and update the field.
