Video editor wanted

Can anyone recommend a video editor that can

Convert MP4 to / from other common formats such as WMV and AVI

Rotate a video through 90ยบ

Cut the start and end points to produce a new, shorter, video[/list]This is for one of my kids, I suspect it will end up on YouTube.

    Thanks for the advice.

I haven't used it, but this seems to fit your requirements.

Looks interesting, it can do 2 out of 3.

    Any suggestions for the rotation?

Windows Movie Maker (included in Microsoft Windows) can rotate video over +90 and -90 degrees.

When you say "rotation", do you mean reverse the order of the frames beginning to end or flip individual frames top to bottom ??

I haven't checked, but I suspect he took some video with the camera on its side and now he wants it the other way up!

I will have a look at Windows Movie Maker and see what it can do.

I know you asked for , but just in case you run out of options in that area and want to BUY something, here's some folks that I think are close to home for you. I've done as much digging on the web as I can and can't find anything that makes me nervous about them. I'm not receiving any spam as a result of BUYING from them and I've AV scanned what I've downloaded and so far come up clean.

I was initially looking for something that would convert .FLV files but have since downloaded and installed several of their audio/video applications. The purchase price is not too bad, considering that you then get to download and install any and all of their software apps. I suppose this is not something you would want to turn loose on your kid, but maybe "Daddy" could act as video "helper" and do a few things for said child.

Anyway, here's a link for your reference, just in case you want to do some reading: AVS4YOU Best software for you on today's market.

If that's the case, Hans was spot on when he recommended Windows Movie Maker. From here....
"If you peek at Movie Maker's Video Effects you will find "Rotate 90 Degrees," as well as rotation effects for 180 and 270 degrees. After capturing, cut these "rotated" segments, add the relevant rotation effect, and your problem should (I said "should") be solved."
