    Scanpst.exe (MS Ultimate Office 2007 SP1)

I'm having trouble with my old nemesis again...Outlook! I accidentally turned my surge protector off today and of course, everything went black. When I discovered what I had done and turned it back on, everything started again but Outlook.

I have re-booted several times, I executed a System Restore to a point prior to my problem, and nothing works. I am attaching two files showing the messages I receive when I try to open Outlook. The first message tells me to run Scanpst.exe.

The second attachment shows what happens when I try to run Scanpst.exe.
I love Outlook when it's running but I have more trouble keeping it fine-tuned than any other software I deal with.

Can someone please help? I am in the middle of teaching a computer class and I need Outlook now!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like you'll have to repair your Office installation, for which you must have your Office 2007 CD at hand. See How to install and to repair 2007 Office features.

    Re: Scanpst.exe (MS Ultimate Office 2007 SP1)

After two days of trying everything, including un-installing Office 2007 and re-installing, I was still getting the same message when I tried opening Outlook. A friend suggested I remove the .pst file from my computer.
I did that, placing it on a flash drive. Voila! Problem solved.
Outlook searched for that file, couldn't find it and asked for another. I pointed it to my backup .pst file and everything worked.
    Whew!
I just wanted to share this in case others have this problem.
