    weird caching issue in all browsers (xp sp3)

    Hi
    I am putting this here because it seems not to be a browser specific issue, but something wrong with xp itself.

    I have been developing a web application that updates graphs and timestamps them with the time of creation. That works fine, but when I view the graphs in my browser, there are often quite old images showing. These images look fine and up-to-date on anyone elses machine (on the same network) but on mine they appear to still be showing an image that is about a week old (and no longer exists since the web app writes over the old images with new every minute or so) I have disabled the cache (toggled it on and off a few times to clear it) on both IE and FF to no avail.

    Any ideas what is going on heer?

    TIA
    ed

    On which machine does the web server reside?

    Have you configured your browser to use a proxy server?
    Is there an automatic proxy server in between you and the web site?

    The easiest way to check is to look at the information on a site like http://ipinfo.info/html/privacy-check.php and see if the IP address it displays is the same as the IP address of your PC or Router.

    @Joe
    The web server is hosted externally in a data center near london.

    @Stuart
    I am not using a proxy server. Everyone here is using the same (ISP) shared ip address and connecting the same way, yet the others can see websites without problems.

    I guess it HAS to be a caching problem then. Try deleting everything in the browser history and cache, rather than just disabling and re-enabling it.

    Make sure that your IE cache settings are set to "check for a new page every time I visit".

    Tried all that joe + stu, and makes no difference still. Well I'm lost.
