links and chart problem (excel 2003)

Word attachment replaced with picture by HansV - saves a few clicks

getting the following error and can't seem to update my charts. Thanks you in advance for your help.

1. opened file B09 yoy walk.xls
2. selected update
3. recieved edit links message and selected
4. received the following message under Status "warning open source to update values" (Error message)
5. selected open source (2009 Area Waterfall.xls)
6. Went back to original file B09 yoy Walk and selected Edit/links
7. Highlighted 2009 Area Waterfall and selected update values
8. Recieved status message " source is open" instead of OK

According to How to check and manage the status of links in Excel 2002 or later versions of Excel, the status "Source is open" means

<hr>The source is open. No action required unless worksheet errors are present.<hr>

Do you have worksheet errors?
