Using the free Adobe Reader, you can save a PDF file as a text file. You can open this in Excel. Depending on the structure of the contents, you can use Delimited or Fixed width to distribute the contents over mutiple columns.

There are many third-party utilities that claim to convert PDF to Excel (do a Google search) but I haven't used any of them so I cannot recommend one.

    Re: pdftoexcel (2003)

If the data is formatted as a table in the PDF file then I have found the following sequence works:

Select the whole table in Adobe Reader

Edit > Copy

Open Microsoft Word

Edit Paste

Select the whole table in Word

Edit Copy

Switch to Excel

Edit Paste[/list]I have never had any success going directly from Adobe Reader to Excel, but using Word as an intermediate stage seems to work well.
