Address Book

am using Microsoft Outlook 2000
I have figured out how to export my contact
Personal - Contactp.pst
Business - ContactB.pst
Email - ContactE.pst

But how do I export the Address book ????
I am importing these files at home, but do not get all the
tasks ( which I do not want) and I still get the contact information.
I would appreciate any input on this if possible.

Thank you - Richard

Re: Address Book

i'm not totally sure i follow. tasks are not part of the contacts.

the contacts are the address book. But... and this is a BIG BUT... depending on your mode of outlook, you might have a pab (corp) or wab (IMO).

Re: Address Book

In outlook there is an address book, which appears to be for the email, and then there is the contact section in which you can put the email information, but you can export the contacts as .pst files, I am wanting to know how to export the address book, which is on the tool bar ?

Re: Address Book

that address book is only a virtual book. it displays the conacts that have email addresses.

if you are using internet mail mode, you may also have the outlook express address book.

if you need just names and email addresses, do a merge to word and save it as a text file. choose the catalog type merge.

Re: Address Book

At the risk of going off topic. I recently had to reformat my hard drive and re-install Win98SE/Office 2000. I diligently backed up the outlook.pst using the Microsoft furnished backup add-in BUT...

When I opened a copy of the backed up .pst there were NO ADDRESSES in my e-mail address book!! Please, PLEASE tell me that I just opened the file wrong and that my e-mail addresses are still in there somewhere.

internet only mode? sharing addresses with OE? if yes to both, they were in the wab and are history.

Re: Address Book

IO mode yes, sharing, no. Damn, it doesn't mention this "feature" in either Barry's "Maximising Outlook 2000" or Woody's "Special Edition using O2K".
