    Adobe Reader

I am having trouble opening certain .pdf documents from www.fifthchair.org. When I try to open the Adobe Reader window Opens but it remains BLANK and Freezes. I have to use Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out. I was using Adobe Reader 7.0 so decided to upgrade and downloaded and installed the 9.0 version. All seemed to go along as usual during the install but now I can't find the 9.0 version ANYWHERE. I tried REmoving the 7.0 version and get a message " The patch package could not be opened ----------"
However I am able to Open other .pdf files and while doing so it shows version 7.0 is activated.
Any ideas where I can find the 9.0 version I installed and activate it???

It might end up being quicker in the long run to go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove Programs and uninstall anything saying Adobe Reader, then downloading and installing the v9 version...

Of course there is also Foxit Reader as an alternative

Tried REMOVE and here is the message I get in a drop out window: "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer patch package."

Ah, that Remove! It seems significantly broken.

See if this response is of assistance...

Or see whether Adobe's writeup for removing Adobe Reader 7 is any use.

    Re: Adobe Reader

Thanx for your prompt reply. Looked at both FIXES but have decided to go to a backup H/D and see if I can resolve the problem there by REMOVING Adobe Reader 7.0 and then Install 9.0.
Will make a new post after that exercise.

    Re: Adobe Reader

I just finished a session with a Tech Rep from Smart Computing magazine. He took control of my computer and used a program called "revouninstaller" and quickly REMOVED all files related to Adobe reader 7.0 and then INSTALLED Adobe Reader 9.0 and EVERYTHING WORKS just fine.
    Thanx for your attention.
