Mergefield Time Format Switch (Word 2007)

I am running a mail merge using a Word main document and an Excel data document, both in 2007. One of the mergefields is a time field. In Excel, the field is formatted to display as 9:00 AM. In the merged document, it is showing up as 9:00:00 AM. After reading through some posts here on number formatting switches, looking in Word 2007 Help (which was a total waste of time), searching the Microsoft Knowledge Base, and even consulting Word 2003 Help, I tried inserting the switch @ "h:mm" so that the merge field read {MERGEFIELD "Time" @ "h:mm"}. After toggling and updating the field, it read "Time". Any thoughts on what I might have done wrong? As always, many thanks.

It looks like Word is displaying the column header. What happens if you actually perform the merge to a new document?

The same thing. I was viewing it in the preview of the merge document.

Could you zip stripped down copies of the data source and the merge document and post the zip file?
