Link to Bookmark or Named Destination (2002)

I'm trying to insert hyperlinks to specific destinations in a PDF file.

I have Acrobat 9 and see that I can edit the PDF to create either a Bookmark or a Destination.

The question is what syntax to use in my link so that the PDF opens to the correct spot (Bookmark or Destination).

Is this do-able in PowerPoint? If so, how, and is there an advantage to using bookmark or destination to identify the target?

    Regards,

In theory, you should be able to add

    #nameddest=bookmarkname

    or

    #page=3

after the filename of the PDF in the hyperlink to go to a specific bookmark or specific page, but neither works for me...

    Thanks Hans,
I used info from your response and from another responder to come up with a solution.

First I create a named destination in the target PDF (for example BOM_P2)
Then in the PowerPoint, I insert a hyperlink to the PDF.
Finally, I append "#nameddest=BOM_P2" to the existing link.

That worked fine. It took me directly to the the spot I had marked in the target PDF.

    This lounge rocks!

    Thanks to all!
