    Java

A couple questions re: Java - Is it ok to always allow updates? Can previous updates be deleted from the Programs menu? My last computer had about thirty updates for Java in there.

    Re: Java

Unless you have some program that specifically looks for an older version of Java, ( unlikely ) then it is OK to delete all but the most recent one.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

    Re: Java

I've never had a serious problem caused by a Java update, and as viking33 indicated, it's generally OK to uninstall older updates.

See <post:=739,580>post 739,580</post:> for a possibly undesirable feature introduced in the next-to-last (at the time of writing) update and how to turn it off if you want to.
