    Printer access on home network

I know this is going to be part of the same area I had issues with in hibernation:

I resolved my hibernation (not being able to) by disabling the ability to wake my computer up.

This computer is attached to a color laser. If I want access to that laser from another machine while mine is turned on, it's no problem. If I turn my machine off, the printer is inaccessible.

Is there any way I could have **just** the printer able to wake up the machine, (or would it be woken up by another network pc accessing it?) and then "return to sleep" when the printing is done?

The printer itself operates fine form a standby mode, so that I never turn it off or on, but since it's directly connected to one machine, that machine has to be turned on to run it.

Or could I set up a third older machine -- print server? -- that would be the one machine set be be able to be turned on, thereby allowing printer access?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

There is NO wake program that I know of. If you have a spare machine, then a "Print Server" would be a good idea.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

And you guys don't have enough trouble with me already, so now you think I should try a print server? I know they're out there, but not the foggiest...

    Oh goodie!
