    Time Zone question (10.3117.2625)

    Hello,

I seem to be having a problem with my time zone settings in Outlook 2002. I have both Win2K and Outlook set for CST (-6) USA/Canada and set to auto adjust for daylight savings time.

The problem is that Outlook Tools > Options > Calendar Options > Time Zone shows my time as 1 hour ahead of my computer time.

I wonder how I might fix this.

    Thank you.

so the options dialog in outlook shows MST, not CST? And changing it to cst changes your appts?

export your calendar to text or excel, delete the items from outlook then change the zone and import.

Well, the dialog shows Central Time but it shows one hour ahead of my actual time. CST is -6 GMT but we are on Daylight Savings Time here in Iowa now and so we are -5 GMT. So the time show is actually EST.

I've attached a screen shot to illustrate what's going on.

    Re: Time Zone question (10.3117.2625)

so the zone says -6 and the time is 11:55 when it's really 10:55?

are you sure the computer time zone is correct? that's the cause of 99.9% of time issues with outlook.

if the problem is appt. are off an hour, it means the TZ was messed up at one time and you'll need to export them to excel. it's been awhile - but i think you change outlook so the appt times are correct, export to excel, change outlook so the TZ is correct and import the appt.

    Yes, exactly.

    >are you sure the computer time zone is correct?

    Definitely.

The appointment times all show as correct. Maybe this isn't a problem that I need to be worried about.
