    Field codes in headers (2003)

I have a document where Heading 1 is connected to a numbering scheme and the word “Part” automatically shows up before the number in any heading 1 entry. I have a header that is programmed as follows:

[STYLEREF “HEADING 1”T *MERGEFORMATN ]. [STYLEREF “HEADING 1”T * MERGEFORMAT]

When I press F9, all I get is, as an example: “3. Other institutions,” instead of “Part 3. Other Institutions.”

Is there a way to get Word to include the word “Part” or do I have to manually type that in?

Simply remove the T switch from the fields. T suppresses everything from the numbering except for the number itself in combination with N. In the second field T doesn't do anything.
