I am trying to create a system that requires users of my database to view reports from within Access but does not allow them access to the other data that's in the database. I am hoping there is a form of user authentification I can deploy. I have used a reporting software (Crystal Reports) in the past to accomplish this but my current company will not drop the $$ for a 3rd party app. Is this possible in either Access 2003 or 2007? Thanks for any help!

You can do that with Access 2003 and the User-Level Security. See The Secrets of Security from or Moderator WendellB for a start with Security.

One thing you should know : User-Level Security is not any more implemented in the new .accdb format from Access 2007
