Perhaps it was on the old......

But I love the little box that lets you immediately go to the newest post in a long topic.

Also image handling seems to be a little easier too.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

Thanks for pointing out that neat feature! I hadn't spotted it and I've been wondering all day how to get to the new posts in a thread! So much to learn but so much to enjoy! I haven't decided what I like best about the lounge yet! It all seems good and fast!

Thank you for pointing that out. I'm sure there are many more little treasures like that yet to discover. (Now, if only we didn't have to scroll all the way back to the top to return to the "View New Posts" link.)

Hi Samantha - you don't have to scroll back to the top. You can click on the little control button on the left side of the screen under your profile info which says "TOP" and up you'll go. Is this what you are "hunting for"?

Not quite sure if I understood what you mean, Samantha, but doesn't the selection area at the bottom right corner, after the most recent post, give you what you're looking for?

If you click the name of the forum, it will take you back to the list of threads, with the remaining un-read markers still highlighted. Or, you can click the part that says "Next Newest" or "Next Oldest" to move directly from thread to thread.

Yes, that works nicely if you are browsing in each individual forum (although to my brain the "Next Newest" and "Next Oldest" positions seem to be opposite of the direction I'm navigating). But I've discovered that I prefer clicking on the "View New Posts" in the Controls at the top of the page and getting an instant overview of what's new across all the forums. I will read the topics that interest me, and before leaving the View New Posts list, I'll click to mark all posts read, clearing the decks for my next visit.

Ahhh, there it is! Right there at the bottom left corner of every post! It never occured to me to look on the individual posts, I was searching the bottom of the page itself.

If it were a snake it'd've bit me. (Even with your clear directions, it took several minutes of fruitless searching before I could see it.)

THANK YOU, THAT was the button that I was looking for. "View New Posts" is a great way to get the 'instant overview of what's new'.

    That's a good one.

It's the method I'm using to get back with ONE CLICK to my subscribed forums list.

Put a bookmark on your Firefox Personal Toolbar or on the IE Links toolbar where it's in plain sight and available for one-click access to the following link:
This should take you back to the list from which you started.

You can put an image in the middle of a post.

It's still free of advertisments! Phew! [askitterbugofsmileshere]

There's niggly little things that will take a little getting used to..........

I do miss the unread post's count.

I find the "compile a post" page a little too spaced out, having to scroll down to preview or post.

I'm missing all the [smilies] .... What would be nice is a "my smilies" section, where you can store all your individual favourites.

..........but all in all, Great job!!I think it's fantastic!!

    Agreed.
(Mind you, pretty well everything after 1968 is a little too spaced out for my liking ....)
    (Present company excepted)
    (No offence intended)
    (etc.)

What we need now is a sweep or pool or whatever where we all take a stab at what time UTC the backups are taking place to see if we can detect them by observation alone.
Winner gets a free smilie .....

    >I do miss the unread post's count.
    What was that?
    (see "1968" above)

You know what we really need is a button like the Google one "I feel lucky today", where, when we click to post our reply, it gets randomly assigned to some other post in some other forum!
