    Hello,

    I have a problem with Word 2002.

I am trying to edit an existing document. In the footer field, there is a line that I cant get rid of. It really is in the footer (I think) as I dont see it in the normal view but when I edit the footer, it appears.

    Thanks for your help!

This is a paragraph border. To remove it you should put your cursor in the footer. Format Borders and Shading. Select Paragraph, and click the box marked None.
